DIY – Unity Candle and Flower Girl Basket
david November 21st, 2007
Me being the artsy crafty type, i dragged Jess with me to this craft supply shop in PJ old town to get some ribbons and trimmings to start on the unity candle and the flower girl basket. Yes yes, Dave thinks the unity candle is really cheesy but i really think its very meaningful. Anyway, bought some white candles from Ikea and with some superglue and some imagination i managed to glue the ribbons together and attached some butterfly motif bling bling on the candles. Here’s how it looks like:
As for the flower girls basket, i got put off by the ready made ones in Lovely Lace so what I did was I made a similar one at a fraction of the price, approx. RM 10 for all the materials. With a hot glue gun (and lots of glue everywhere 1 hour later) here’s how it looks like:
We also got a “Just Married” plate made, for use with the car deco, I ordered it together with my friend Grace from this company called Whizarts. It’s a nice addition to the floral car deco that we opted for. Wondering if I should start saving some cans to tie to the back of the car?
I’m still going to DIY some boutteniers for the boy helpers out of buttons and ribbons. Got the idea from Martha Stewart weddings blog. Once i have those done i’ll post the pictures here. For the girl helpers, i’ve already purchased some ready made lace/fabric flower corsages from Bangkok, a real deal! Will post the pictures together with the button boutteniers soon.
